When to Pay a Little More

Even if you are living on a low income, it sometimes pays to buy the more expensive model of an item. Most merchandisers carry the same item in cheap to luxury model for different income demographics.  However, cheaper models can come with fewer features or not be very high quality. So, how do you know when you should buy something that might be better versus something that might be cheaper? When buying cosmetics, the price doesn’t equate to higher quality, but for tools, a higher price generally does mean a better construction. While looking at what you are buying is a good strategy to decide whether price matters or not, there are also other common sense rules you can use to determine when to pay a little more. (more…)

The Transportation Department has put in place rules that do not allow airlines to exclude taxes and fees that might have previously been eliminated in a bid to get the sale, only springing up at the last minute upon checkout.
