As a single father raising two toddlers, I have to be very creative with the stretching of my money. I am blessed to have these children whose mother abandoned them at an early age. My daughter was 4 1/2 months old in April of 2004 when their mother left us. Unknown to me, was that she was already pregnant with my son who was born in October of that year. Since she was incarcerated at the time of his birth, I was able to pick up my son from the hospital and he has never known his mother. My finacee has been a great help to me, but we still struggle day to day to make ends meet and provide the children with all they need and most of what they want. My fincee recently obtianed an online loan from National Payday in order to provide us with the greatest Christmas present ever, a trip to spend Christmas with my family. This will allow my children as well as my fiancee the opportunity to meet and get to know my father, brothers, and sisters. I come from a large family and it has realy hurt me that I have not been able to afford a trip so that my children can meet their extended family. The best money-saving, gift-giving idea I’ve had was last year. I was low on funds for Christmas and a payday loan wasn’t sufficient enough to buy for all the people I had on my list so I decided to hand make all the gifts. I bought 24 glass jars, flour, cookie mix, ribbon, and printed 24 pictures of my daughter. I layered the cookie mix into a pretty design in the jar and then decorated the jar. I hung my daughter’s picture with a ribbon and made her picture the gift tag. I gave it to family and friends and they loved it! Nothing like a homemade gift to show someone they’re special! I was even able to buy a few extra items since the cost of the cookie making jar was minimal!

OUR BEST MONEY SAVING GIFT-GIVING IDEA IS THAT YOU DON’T HAVE TO BUY THE MOST EXPENSIVE THING THERE IS. WE SHOP WALMART AND THE DOLLAR STORE WE ALSO HAVE THINGS THAT WE BOUGHT LAST YEAR THAT WERE ON SALE AFTER CHRISTMAS. DO YOUR SHOPPING AROUND SEPTEMBER WHEN THINGS ARE NOT SO CRAZY. WE HAVE 5 CHILDREN WE HAVE TO SHOP FOR, AND ITS NOT EASY AT ALL. OUR FAMILY HAS HAD TO SCAFRICE ALOT THIS YEAR AND WE JUST DON’T REALLY HAVE ALOT TO SPEND BUT WE GIVE THEM THE BEST WE CAN. I THINK A PAYDAY LOAN WOULD HAVE HELPED US GIVE THESE KIDS A LITTLE MORE THIS YEAR. A PAYDAY LOAN WOULD GIVE THESE KIDS A CHRISTMAS THAT THEY BELIEVE IN. I AM NOT MUCH FOR CHRISTMAS THIS YEAR I HAVE RECENTLY LOST MY LITTLE BROTHER AND ALMOST MY DAUGHTER IN A CAR ACCIDENT. MY BROTHER PASSED AWAY ON DECEMEBER 9TH 2006 AND WAS BURIED ON OUR DAUGHTERS BIRTHDAY. IT WAS THE ONLY BROTHER I HAD. My best idea for a holiday gift would be for me to take my Wife and 3 kids somewhere special, where the kids could enjoy themselves and my wife and i could get a much needed break from working and trying to pay all the bills, keep food on the table, and putting gas in the car so that we can get to work to provide for our children. We would go to a in-town resort or family center with activities for the whole family and we can just enjoy each other. With the Help of National, it would be a priceless with love and memories.

One of the best gifts I have ever given was to my daughter’s teacher! Her teacher helped her through so many tough time with separating from Mommy! I had all the children in the class give me several photos of themselves and write 2 sentences about why they are proud of themselves. They were in First Grade at the time. I took all the photos and text and made a Photo Book online. It was a beautiful, hard-cover book that looked like it had been purchased at Barnes & Noble! The theme of the book was "Do I Make You Proud?" I used the words from the Taylor Hicks "American Idol" song. She cried when she received it and it has a permanent place on her bookshelf for all to enjoy!

Some very close friends of mine moved out of state a couple years ago. It has been very hard without them because they are like my second family. With work and school and everything else going on it has been hard to find the time and money to visit. Finally after getting a much needed break I decided to go for it and used my National loan to buy a plane ticket and surprise them with a weekend visit. We were all so excited to see each other after being apart for so long. On top of everything my friend went into labor that weekend and I got to be there for the birth of my godson!! It was almost as if he knew it would be the perfect time to be born!

My Dad passed away 3 years ago this past August. My brother passed away 19 years ago when he was 20 years old. My Mom has had a lot to deal with trying to hold herself together along with my sister & I. My sister & I are both grown and each have a daughter. For Christmas this year, I am making a 12 month calendar for my Mom showing her husband, children & grandchildren through the years. Money has been tight for me this year due to unexpected circumstances. I have had to use National Payday several times this year just to make ends meet. This is something my Mom can use all year long. Everyday she will be able to see her family through the years. Hopefully it will bring a smile to her face daily.

I had survived that xmas with a little creativity and the help of payday loans I was able to get everyone on my list a little something to show them that I was thinking about them this holiday seson.

In addition to working full-time, I am also a graduate student. Having an extra $400 would mean that I could get my mom something nice for the holiday season – a ticket for me to pay her a surprise visit.
