I Joined the US Navy in 2005, and left for boot camp in June of 2006. I've
been in Great Lakes, Illinois for around 9 months now. I don't make alot of
money, and the money I do make mostly goes to all of my bills every month. I
find it difficult to save money when I support my wife, and pay my bills. As
of December 2006 I had not seen or been able to speak to any of my family
and friends in my hometown in NY. The Navy Grants 2 weeks of Christmas leave
every year to all the recruits, but I didnt have the money to make the trip,
so I turned to payday loans. I borrowed enough money to make the trip there
and back, and still but Christmas presents for my familly. Myfamily and
friends were overjoyed to see me, because they had not seen me in at least 7
months. It was the best trip I had ever taken, and it would not have been
possible were it not for the payday loans I took out.
I've been through an awful lot this past year, and would like to share that story with you.
I am a wife and mother of four wonderful children. Last year, our luck had changed when we started to get behind in our mortgage payments, and were close to foreclosure.
We got a postcard from a company that said they could help us our of our situation by catching us up with payments and we decided that this sounded like a way out of all of our troubles... Well, we found out after we signed papers and started making payments back on this "loan" that what we really signed was a "deed in lieu of foreclosure"-- even though the company's rep. said it was a "refinance" (we didn't read the fine print).
I immediately got a hold of the county recorder to take a look at the documents that revealed who the owner of our home was, and to my dismay discovered that my husband's signature was on it, and he "gave" our home to this company!! We were devastated!
A few months later, I contracted a deadly staph infection and had to be hospitalized for two weeks, with NO INSURANCE! My bill ended up being a grand total of $40,000.00!!! of which I am still paying on.
If I were awarded the prize of $400.00, I would use it to pay a car payment or a bill that has been behind to get that much closer to becoming debt free.
I am not relating this tale to you solely for the purpose of trying to win money.
If fact, my primary motivation for writing is a far more selfish one? HEALING
Unlike many of the stories you will receive that highlight the wonderful vacations or that special present, my story is one of tragedy.
On the morning of September 1st I was awakened to a call from my father?s girlfriend, you see my father was unable to find the strength to speak to me
It was in those early moments of the new day that I was told that Amanda, my one and only, beautiful niece, who just 11 days earlier had celebrated her 17th birthday, was dead.
Amanda had been at a high school football game with her friends on Friday night like so many other kids across the country do during football season.
After the game they went to get something to eat and then her friends were going to take her home. Amanda didn't make it.
The kids (none of them over 17) were in a small SUV with a friend of hers driving, Amanda was in the front passenger seat and the younger brother of the driver was in the back seat and as they navigated the winding North
Carolina roads. Coming around one last curve, the driver started to lose control and then made the inexperienced mistake of over-correcting. The vehicle went through some bushes as the driver once again tried to regain
control. After wiping out a mailbox the vehicle slammed into a utility pole on the front passenger side, spun and flipped in the air, finally coming to rest upside down and facing the opposite direction it had originally been traveling.
The driver and his brother in the back seat survived the ordeal with the most serious injury to either being a broken arm. Our dear Amanda died at the scene.
I have been a customer of National Payday for a long time now. I used to think that I had only gotten the loans when I absolutely needed them and that I had always used the money for a good purpose. It was this time that I realized how important it was to be able to have the money for this trip.
You see I couldn't afford it so my father paid for my airplane ticket from Louisiana to North Carolina so that I could be with my sister. I only have one and she needed me.
Because of my loan from National Payday, my own family was able to pay the bills and buy groceries while I was able to spend an extended amount of time with my sister and nephew.
Now I will tell you why this is the best use of ANY payday loan?
Amanda was to be cremated and because of the severity of the accident, my sister was afraid that she would not have the strength to see Amanda in that condition.
My sister asked me to go to see her, to kiss her goodbye for her and to tell her that she loves her with her very soul.
God gave me the strength to go see our baby and to fulfill the wishes of my sister.
Thanks for helping my family so that I could help my sister, nephew, brother-in-law and most importantly?
So that I could see Amanda and tell her goodbye until we meet again.
I am including a link to a memorial site for Amanda and hope that you take the time to stop by and see my beautiful niece and maybe say a kind word of encouragement to my sister and our family.
I pray that none of you ever has to endure such a tragedy and that your
lives and those of your children are long and prosperous.
I discovered Nationalpayday on the internet and I can?t imagine how I would have been able to get through a really rough patch without their hassle free pay advance program. After graduating from my full-time college degree program, I was no longer eligible to work at my college through the work study program. Two months later I found my dream job but I had become so behind on payments that I could barely cope with my bills and transportation costs. Nationalpayday really helped to get myself on track until my new job had me on my feet. Thanks Nationalpayday!!
