The days seemed to melt into each other. Working seven days a week can do
that to you. I finally came upon a weekend that would actually be free
from work. The problem was that my paycheck was a week away.
I looked up nationalpayday.com on the internet. They gave me the money I
needed to get away and relax. I packed up the kids and headed off to the
Renaissance Faire. The drive was less than 30 minutes but I seemed to be a
million miles away from my stress. The 400 dollars I was advanced easily
paid for the hotel room and entry tickets. I was even able to buy my sons
knight costumes complete with battle shields. At the Faire we met all
sorts of fun characters from the historical Renaissance period. The shows
were fantastic; there was a life-size chessboard where real people played
the parts of the chess pieces, having to do battle with each other to win
the right to the square. My daughter's were excited to meet and get
autographs from Maid Marian and Robin Hood.
My oldest daughter liked the pickle wagons; my youngest liked the giant
turkey legs. While he was eating, it seemed the drumstick was bigger than
his head! Along the trails there were human powered rides like the
carousel and shows starring storytellers and knife throwers. The biggest
hit with my young crowd was the joust. Robin Hood versus the Black Knight,
of course Robin Hood prevailed in the end.
There were six smiling faces when we left, National Payday had made it
possible for me to take my children out for a good time with Daddy,
something that is all too often missing in this world, something that you
shouldn't miss out on just because your paycheck is a week away.
It was a normal day like any other. Everyone (2 people, 2 rescued dogs and
2 rescued cats) was awake and the morning routine before we leave for work
was underway. Dave had already left for work, and I was running late. Both
dogs were anxiously waiting by the door for their morning walk. Even
though I was running late, I knew I could not deprive Mister and
Tinkerbelle of the morning routine they love so out we went. It was
sweltering hot – summer in Indiana. About 2 blocks into the walk, Mister
was visibly dragging. Not surprising given that both dogs are rescued Great
Pyrenees – big and lots and lots of thick white fur. They are built for
snow and mountains, not Midwest heat. Thinking it was just the heat, I
headed home quickly. Once we got inside, I noticed Mister was dry heaving
quite violently and was very restless. He then started whining incessantly
to me – this is not normal behavior for him. I observed him for another few
minutes then called the vet who said to bring him in right away. We raced
to the vet’s office, Mister still in obvious distress. After a physical and
an x-ray, Dr. Simpson came out and told me that Mister was on an IV and was
scheduled to be at the vet surgery center right away because he had GDV –
Gastric Dilatation-Volvulus, or more commonly known as bloat. It’s common
in big dogs and often fatal. Our regular vet could not perform the
life-saving surgery he would need – he had to go to a special veterinary
surgery center. I called Dave right away to meet me at the animal surgery
center, paid the $492 vet bill (the first of what was going to be many
large medical bills), packed up Mister and off we went. I was panicking by
now, feeling sick and tearing up – our dogs and cats are all rescues and
are part of the family. The thought of losing one of them was more than I
could stomach. We all arrived at the surgery center and things started to
happen very quickly – they took him back, evaluated him and said his
prospects were good since this had been caught quickly (thank goodness I
was running late for work that day) and that it was time to operate. But
before they could do surgery, they needed us to sign the estimate, and
provide a down payment in the amount of the low end of the estimate range.
Much to our shock, the range fell between $2500 and $6000, depending on how
the surgery would go. The whole experience was so awful – worrying about a
beloved pet, having to face a seemingly insurmountable financial situation
and dealing with the pressures of having to agree to this right away so
Mister would get the surgery. We somehow cobbled the money together for the
down payment and Mister went off to surgery. Meanwhile, we were trying to
figure out how we were going to eat and survive for the next few weeks, pay
for Mister’s medications and special food he was going to need post-surgery
- paying for the surgery had decimated what little money we both had –
savings and all. About an hour later, the doctor came out and Mister had
come through the surgery in one piece and was doing well so we went home. I
had taken out payday loans before with National Payday and it was always a
positive experience so that very day, I took out a payday loan with
National Payday and thanks to the quick response and friendly customer
service reps I had the money the next day. That was how we were able to
eat, have gas money to get to work, get Mister his medications and
ultimately pay for his life-saving surgery until our next payday so this by
far has been my best reason to have a payday loan from National Payday. I’m
so thankful.
The last time I took a payday loan was to buy my father a brand new recliner. He had been admitted in the hospital with pneumonia and they discovered he had congestive heart failure. Well, the doctors told my mother and I that patients with congestive heart failure rarely to never are again able to sleep in a totally flat position, as in a bed-that they usually end up sleeping in a recliner for the rest of their lives. My dad's chair was busted up and extremely uncomfortable for him just to sit in, let alone be able to actually use the recliner part. So, knowing this, I didn't think twice. It was still a ways off until pay day and the purchase could not wait. I got the payday loan, bought the chair and my neice and her husband picked it up and delivered it the same day. My father loves his chair; in fact, two weeks ago he had open heart surgery and he sleeps in the chair every nite...it't the only comfortable place he has to be able to relax.
Thank you for considering my story for the contest.

An example of the best way to use a payday loan would
be the way I use mine. I borrowed a loan last time
beacuse I had a trip planned for Reno, NV to attend a
wedding for a friend. After paying all my bills and
other obligations, I was a little short on cash to
have a little fun with the slots and tables. So thats
when I decided to get a small loan and my trip ended
up being a success. I ended up winning with last one
hundred dollars that I borrowed for from national
payday. Thanks National.
