If I had the opportunity to win, I would go and buy my best friend Sue, a new laptop. Sue went home last year in July to visit her mom in England who was dying from cancer. Her mom died while she was there visiting, but she got to spend the last two weeks of her moms life with her and the rest of the family. They took tons of pictures and loaded them onto Sue's laptop. There were pictures of the memorial and of moms ashes being spread over a place called The Moors where they lived in England. Sue and her sister were in London waiting to board their plane to come home and it was the day of the terrorist threat at the airport there. They were only allowed to take on a book and their purses. Sue's laptop had to be checked in. All the pictures from those last two weeks, with mom, on her laptop. Sue came home, to Seattle, expecting all her baggage and her laptop....She was only able to get two bags, her laptop, her camera, and her moms antique china that she brought home, were not there....Sue has since replaced the camera, the china finally showed up, shattered.....and, the CASE for the laptop, but NO laptop. Sue was on Kiro 7 news here, pleading for at least the pictures off of the laptop to be sent to her, keep the laptop, but just load the pics on a CD, months later, nothing. The airlines has searched, nothing. I can't replace her picyures for her, but maybe I can help her move on with a new laptop......Thank you
My best friend is my husband. He is totally bedridden with progressive Multiple Sclerosis, and likes to be propped up in a chair for short periods of time (he gets tired very quickly) and it gets him out of the hospital bed we now have for him. If I had $300 to spend on him, I would buy him a nice comfy chair so he could sit up part of the time and watch tv. It has to be a special chair--just the right height so I can lift him to and from, and with arms to steady him from falling over, as his poor balance causes him to tip sideways. He really deserves something nice in his life. He's lost use of everything but his right arm and hand, and can't sit up or lie down without someone doing it for him. He would really enjoy having a nice comfy chair to sit in to watch tv rather than the wheelchair which gets uncomfortable very quickly.
If I had $300 dollars I would buy my best friend the wedding dress she's been dreaming of for years now. She is getting married soon and she has loved this gown ever since my wedding. Her husband is working hard to pay for the wedding but it's going to be tight and I know that gown would mean the world to her.
In the event that I would win $400.00, I would by my best friend a bunch of books. She is an avid reader and whenever I can find a book that she has not read or shows interest in, I try to purchase it.
She is not only my friend but also one of my staff. I can walk by her classroom during naptime and always find her sitting onthe floor with the children reading.
I know that if I would give her books by her favorite authors like Zane, Jerome Dickey, Nikki Turner or E. Lynn Harris, she would give that smile and say, "Lady you get on my nerves. Thanks!!"
Just to see the joy on her face would make my day. So, that is what I would buy my best friend if I won $400.00.
Without a doubt, my best friend is my sister. We have gone through a lot together, as most siblings have, but my sister has always gone above and beyond for me. When my son was diagnosed with autism, my sister left her job and house in Arkansas to move to Wisconsin and help out. I make great demands on her time because I need her there while my son is in therapy and to pick up the other children from school (basically, she's the errand runner). Because of this, she is not able to get a full-time job and has to work hours where she can. She has accummulated a lot of debt to help my family, and there's no doubt that if I had an extra $300, I would use it to help her as much as she has helped me (well, not even close, but it would be a nice start)!
