This is any easy one. If I had an extra $300, I would buy my best friend a hearing aid. She's not totally deaf - not even close - but she misses enough that I feel a parrot, repeating entire conversations over again for her benefit. And don't get me started on the challenges of watching a movie with her. Suffice it to say, it is a good thing that DVD players have a pause button. Her family and I believe that some of that hearing loss is "selective" but none of us can say for sure. A hearing aid would certainly settle that argument and that's exactly what I would buy for my best friend IF I had an extra $300.
If i had an extra 300 dollars i'd take my best friend out for a day in Chicago. She's in school and can't really afford going out in the town. She's lived in Chicago for 3 months and hasn't had the opportunity to see downtown Chicago. I think it's great that she went back to school and is doing all she can do better herself. I'd love to take her out to PF Chengs and go shopping in the malls downtown. I've known my friend since i was 14 and love her to death. She' the sweetest person i've ever known and i love her very much!
If I had an extra $300, I would purchase my childhood friend a proper bed so he won't have to sleep on the floor anymore. He has had a hard time transitioning in Atlanta this past year. Everything that could go wrong has happen to him from him losing all of his furniture in the move to being rear-ended and his vehicle is destroyed. This will make it one less thing he has to worry about getting done and help him enjoy Atlanta a little more. I wish I could do a lot more to make this better for him.
If I had $300.00, I would buy my best friend a king sized bed for her and her husband who recently was released from prison, after 4 yrs. She only has a full sized bed at present and they are both two pretty large people.
He is a changed person! And I believe that every person deserves a second chance to "start over" and "get right" again with the world. And any bit of kindness thrown in their direction would be validation of that!
They have two children who were taken away from them, but were thankfully placed into custody of my parents. See, not only is this person my best friend, but she is also my sister-- whom I love very much! She has been through an awful lot these past four years and would be so surprised if I could show her that not all hope is lost and that there are people out there who still do care!
I am not usually home at the 4pm hour, but for whatever reason I was and I was able to watch the Oprah show. She spoke about the power of giving and how refreshing it was to be able to help people when they least expected the help. That thought has always stayed with me. If I had an extra $300 I would spend it on ALL my friends. I could pay to fill up the gas tank on someones car, pay for anothers groceries, baby diapers, a doctors co-pay, or just treat the depressed friend to a nice dinner. The possibilies would be endless, many would benefit, and I would finally experience the power of giving.
