My best friend is a grand person. He has suffered many traumas in his life, yet he has held on - helping others, sacrificing himself for the needs of others, day or night. When anyone needs assistance with their cars, children, animals, houses, yards, moving, or whatever, my best friend always comes to the rescue. Last year in May, he tried to take a long awaited vacation to Cape May, NJ. On the way down, his car was totaled in an accident (not his fault). He deserved better than that! And on vacation, too!
So, if I am the winner, I would like to use my prize of $400 to give my best friend that vacation that he lost last year and so richly deserves. By the way, my best friend is also my HUSBAND, Tim.
Many say many things if they had extra, but how many of them actually follow-up with their intentions. I do believe if I had $300 extra, I would share it with my mom and my sisters, which are my best friends. They are all hardworking ladies and deserve to have a break every now and then. So with that said, I would use my travel agent discounts and splurge on a luxurious hotel for the best weekend we can have together while they are all healthy and alive.
As a kid, I was always broke. All through junior high and high school. That condition has not much remedied itself - I still struggle with bills and rent. In high school, when lunchtime would come along, I would go to the library - empty mainly, surprise, surprise - and wait out my friends to return from McDonald's, Taco Bell - whatever. Lots of times my friends would float me - a few dollars here and there, just so I would feel comfortable hanging out, but to me, those little loans added up over time, and I considered myself indebted to them financially, so I stopped hanging out. Now, some years later, I would love to be able to just send them some of that money back - I would not tell them where its' coming from, lest they refuse it. I mean, I know now that I was the only one keeping a tab, but it would feel good to repay them in kind - though their needs for such small sums of money are much less than mine were during our high school days, it's the sentiment that counts to me at this point. I guess it would be like a closure - "I paid them back", I could say to myself, and I wouldn't have to worry about someone yelling out at my funeral: "That son-of-a-..... still owes me $5.00!"
I was not going to enter this contest, but then this morning my colleague told me that their tiny mini-dachshund became ill for the second time this month and may not make it. The tiny little “Angel” (that’s her name) is in the veterinary hospital right now fighting for her life and my co-worker is worried that he and his wife will have to make a decision to put her down if they don’t have the funds to cover her illness. So, what I would do with an extra $300 or $400 is try to help save little Angel’s life. There is nothing more difficult than not only having a sick pet or even family member, but also having to make a medical decision based on money or lack of money. Thank you for your consideration.
This request is easy, my best friend just entering into the world of single motherhood of 3 teen aged girls. I would not buy her anything I would deposit the funds into a savings account would help her to live on until seh finds a 2nd job.
