To me, a best friend is someone who knows everything about you, and loves you just the same. He or she is always there for you through the good and the bad, and will support you and take care of you without hesitation. I found that person on Christmas Day 2002, and I’m a better person because of it. I can safely say, that this man has been more of a friend, a better friend, than I’ve ever had. Until I met him, I didn’t realize that those who I truly thought were my friends weren’t that at all. Actually, he isn’t just my best friend: he’s my soul mate. His love and support are more than I ever expected to find; it helped me to see that I could achieve whatever I wanted to, no matter what it was. That meant so much because until I met him, I had given up on life and on myself, and of ever finding my soul mate. Sadly, I never anticipated that my already poor health would decline so rapidly until I’d be almost completely dependant on him to take care of me and of our home. Not many would give of themselves so selflessly, as he does. It truly breaks my heart that he’s had to sacrifice so much, yet would never have it any other way. I would absolutely love to have $300 to spend on him, especially because he couldn’t argue about how it’s better spent on anything but him, as he always does. We’re struggling financially, and because of it he’s constantly worried. As a result, I’ve only wanted one thing, which is to do whatever I can to ease the burden and stress off of him. So, with $300 I would use it toward a down payment on a car. At the moment, our sole vehicle is broken down. It’s an older model that needs a lot of work; still it’s his and has been in his life for a long time. Another car would allow his to get a rest, and to slowly be fixed up until it’s a gem once again. This way, we’ll be able to travel further and follow through on some business plans we have. Of course, $300 will only go so far but I’ll do what I’ve always done, which is to stretch the money as far as I can. Just as long as I can do something to ease his mind, if only for a short while, as he deserves a little peace and happiness for all that he does for me.
Someone who has devoted her life to a man in a wheelchair ... that is my friend Barbara! Barbara is a kind-hearted woman who put aside her own life to take care of her fiance after a snowmobile accident left him paralyzed from the neck-down. She was never able to marry him or have the children she so dearly wanted. She has adopted the neighborhood children as her own and thrives on their accomplishments. At Halloween, she buys the biggest candy bars she can find and wraps dollar bills around them for the children. She has had to work hard in her career all day as an Administrative Assistant to take care of her friend and to keep him on her health insurance plan. Then, she comes home from work and spends the rest of the evening she takes care of her friend: feeding, bathing, and using a hydraulic lift to get him into bed. She moved her own bed into his room just in case he needs her during the night. For all of her selfless actions, I would love to take $300 and send Barbara on a day of pampering at a Day Spa. Imagine how she could relax with a massage, facial, pedicure and manicure! She truly deserves having someone take care of her!
My best friend and I have know each other from the time we were babies, while growing up neither of our families had much and we were never pamper nor have we taken the time or money to pamper ourselves as adults. My friend now has 5 children all of them being girls from age 18 to age 3 months so you can image that she could use a little pampering. I myself have only 2 boy’s and I am always running I could not image having five to run around, she is also divorced and had little or no help from the ex husband. So with both of us being single moms I would love to treat her and myself to a day at the spa for some special pampering for a mom that deserves it.
My best friend is my sister, Terri and if I had $300 to buy her something, this would be my story:
This is a story of unselfishness, devotion to family, kindness and love. My sister is the most outgoing, bubbly person in the world.
She has devoted her life to takin care of our mom who is terminally ill with COPD and emphysema, a disease that affects her lungs and breathing. She is now considered in End Stage Lung Disease and her illness has rendered her almost completely handicapped.
After mom's hospital last year, it was determined that Mom would have to have round the clock care and rather than hire a full time nurse or aid or put Mom in a health facility, my sister, Terri, without hesitation, quit her job, moved out of her home and moved in to Mom's house to take care of her on a full time basis.
Terri cooks, cleans, renders medical care, does all of the shopping and makes sure that Mom gets taken to her medical appointments. Basically, my sister devotes her entire life to the needs of my Mom.
For anyone to be able to do that is an unbelievably unselfish act. Just simply knowing that Mom's disease is terminal, and being able to handle her medical care is something that only a very special person can do.
So, if I had $300 to give to my sister, I would make sure that she has a day of complete pampering, possibly go to a special Day Spa in which she could receive special pampering. No amount of money could express the appreciation for what she does every day, but $300 would provide her with very special treatment that she very much deserves.

My best friend is someone that I can call anytime day or night for anything that I need. I have known my best friend for 25 years and she is the Godmother to my children since she does not have any. I don't think I could buy her anything that she could not buy herself;however she doesn't do anything for herself other than shop. I would take my best friend on a girls day out. I would treat her to a spa day complete with massage, body wrap, manicure, and pedicure.
