If I were able to afford to spend $300.00 on a friend I would chose my friend Brian. Any time that I have needed help Brian has always been there for me and would like to return the favor.
Over the past few months Brian has fallen on hard times and could use some help. He recently relocated in hopes to find better employment, but that search has failed. At this current time Brian is living in a motel room paying over $200.00 weekly. With this high of a “rent” payment it has been hard to save enough money to move into a place that is within his budget. If something is not done soon my friend could be left out on the street.
I would like to be able to go to Brian and hand him $300.00 and say, “let’s go find an apartment”. Sometimes a person needs a “break” to get ahead. I would like to give Brian this break. That’s what I would do if I had $300.00 to give to a friend.
My best friend is my husband Korbin. We have been together for 20 years and each year we seem to hit more and more obsticals. We have 3 beautiful daughters, 16, 12 and 1 1/2 yrs. Korbin never does anything for himself. When his grandmother passed away he used the little bit of money we got and bought the girls clothes. We will grab a bite to eat, but he will not eat, to save money. He never thinks about himself. When our oldest daughter turned 16, we had to get an additional car, because Korbin and I were unable to take time off work to pick up the other girls from school or the sitter. Korbin drives a 1989 Honda Prelude, we could have given that car to my daughter but he wanted something safer for her to drive, his car has a cracked windshield and the power sterring unit has gone out, so it's difficult to drive. So he continues to drive the older broken down car so that our daughter has a safer car to drive. If I could I would get those two items fixed for him. I want him to be in a safe car that he can be proud of. He always takes care of us, I would love to take care of him.
I would treat her to a day of pampering at a spa. My best friend deserves a day for herself as her whole life has been taking care of everyone. The ultimate was when her then 12 year old daughter was diagnosed with cancer and she quit her job to take care of her. Now, mind you this was as a single parent with 3 other children at home. This was so physically and emotionally draining, that she herself has health problems now from it. She still has not been able to return to working her job full time as a nurse. Not only that she is the best friend in the world.
If I had $300 i would buy my best friend a plane ticket. Why? Well, my best friend is unemployed with two children. One of her kids will be graduating from junior high school this June and she really wants her mother who lives in Alabama to attend. Her mom needs a plane ticket to come out to Los Angeles to see her grandson graduate. The grandmother hasnt seen her grandson in a year. I would like to be a good samaritan to my best friend and purchase this ticket as a surprise for her to get her mom out here. Plane tickets are very expensive and she has no money at all. Can I be her angel this time? That $300 would surely help.
If I had $400 dollars the first thing i would do for my best friend Dan is buy him some new clothes, lets just say that Dan looks like he's attending high school back in the late 70's, Johnny Bravo has nothing on Dan right down to the super curly hair! If there was any money left over we'd get him to a barber and fix up that do!! Then we'd roll out for a night on the town and hit some bars and reveal the new look spider (thats his nickname!)
