The Alluring Fantasy of Fast and Free Money
In this world there is little by way of fast, free money, despite the fact that many of us would like to believe otherwise. The proof of this desire for money that comes free of effort, and as fast as water from a tap is found in the enormous success of things such as lotteries and gambling. Unfortunately for the majority of people who engage in these activities, about the only money that goes fast or free is their own.There are many who believe that a far better way to earn money in a fast manner, free of the trouble of work, is to invest in the stock market. Now it is true that the stock market can earn you a huge amount of money, but it is just as true that it can take your money from you as fast as a casino, but without the free drinks at the roulette table. The stock market is basically a form of gambling, but instead of absolute chance, as with most gambling, you are betting on businesses, markets, commodities or other items to do well or poorly in the world market. To think that you can scrape together a few thousand dollars and parlay this money into thousands more, fast and free of any actual work on your part, is pure foolhardiness.
Like anything in this world that has high stakes, the stock market requires a great deal of work if you hope to come out on the winning end at the end of the day. For those who have a large amount of money and want it to earn them some more, unless you are willing to put away dreams of earning fast cash and being free to do whatever you want, you are better off simply putting the money into something safe, like a savings account or long-term treasury bond. However, if you understand that the stock market is a risky form of gambling, but one in which you can win over the long-term through being patient and willing to devote much of your free time and money on research and information gathering, then you may want to look into it.
The important thing to keep in mind in anything that regards money is, as stated previously, there is little free and fast money in this world for most of us. Your best odds are to find something that you love doing, and spending your free time and money on figuring out how you can best earn money doing that. This is a much better way of bringing you a sense of happiness and personal fulfillment than holding out some unrealistic hope of falling into some fast and free pot of money.
