The Costs of College
There are so many costs associated with college, it can be a financially stressful time for many individuals. You never realize how much money you need to spend until you begin moving out of home and into a dorm or an apartment. Students should realize that not only are they going to need to pay for books and tuition, but you are going to need daily living supplies as well. There are several options to choose from to fund your new college life. The first is what all students want is a scholarship! Many colleges are automatically offering students scholarships of varying sizes. Many offer them to students who graduated in the Top 10% and Top 20% of their class. This can be very helpful, as this will limit the amount of money you may need to borrow in the form of a student loan.
The second source of funding that all students want is a grant. It is important that students get their FAFSA and tax information in as soon as possible to have the best chance at receiving substantial grant money. Grant money can be used for a variety of uses, however, it is important to keep in mind that the school will take their tuition out of the grant first. Students then have the remainder of the money to use at their discretion. These also help to eliminate the amount of money you may need for a student loan. If the student has enough need, then they may be able to make their whole college career practically free and without the need for a student loan. .
