Get Control Of Your Loans And Travel Smart
Few of us have as much money as we would like. This may sound like little more than a smart-aleck comment on the nature of humans, always wanting more than they have to the point of taking out loans to get it, but it can also be seen as a way to connect with the rest of humanity. In other words, you are not alone in wanting more. The real problem that arises from this unfortunate desire can be found in the fact that people too often use having less money than they would like as an excuse to not do many of the things that they want to do.
One of the main things people put off due to the excuse of not having enough money is travel. Time and again, if you talk to someone about traveling to some distant place, you will hear that the person hopes to go on the trip one day, but she or he just doesn’t have the money yet. This is nothing more than a smart way of insuring that one does not upset one’s own habits. It is smart because few people will argue with someone over an issue like money. If one were to say that they could not go due to being scared or in some way too worried about travel, that person would appear weak and insecure, whereas the smart approach of using money as an issue makes the person look prudent and financially wise.
There are some major problems with the money argument, however. It may sound financially smart, but it is potentially emotional stultifying for an individual. To deny oneself of the experience of travel due to an excuse is to deny oneself of living one’s life. This is not even the crux of it, however. The simple fact is that everywhere around the world, people with less money than you are finding a way to travel, and this is not through taking out loans or robbing banks.
If you can overcome the fear of getting up and going, of just dropping the life you have grown used to and setting out on an adventure for a month or more, then money cannot stand in your way. Money issues may push the time you would like to leave back a bit, such as if you have loans that you need to pay off first, or loans that you need to make sure are paid while you are gone, but even unpaid loans cannot stop you from saving up money for your trip, if you are smart about your planning.
There are many ways to go about making a smart plan for saving up money for your trip. For one thing, budget your life. Everything that you spend money on must be taken into account so that you can create a truly smart budget for yourself. This includes any loans, or more appropriately, any payments on loans, which you will need to make over your savings time and your actual travel time.
Once you have made your smart budget, and taken any loans you might have into account, you can figure out how long you will need to save in order to go on the trip that you want to go on. With a little smart shopping you will be able to find flights and other travel needs to fit any budget. If you feel that you will have to wait longer than you would like, make your budget a little tighter. Everything that you do in this world is about priorities. Which is more important to you, a new television or being able to stroll along the streets of Rome or some other foreign city, looking upon things you had only ever seen in books or television? Your answer to this simple question should tell you how much you actually do want to travel.
