Prescription drugs are sometimes necessary for the ailments that plaque us both regularly and at certain times in the year. With the rising costs of health care, it is always a relief to see smaller bills for the prescription drugs we need. Recently, pharmacies have been offering incentives to use them as a sole source. They even offer some medications for free so that they can keep you as a customer. With a little research, you can most assuredly save money on prescription drugs.
Just recently, Walmart pharmacy offered a substantial amount of drugs for a flat fee of four dollars. This made many medications that were previously costly, affordable for lower income families. Although not an exhaustive amount of drugs, it started a chain reaction seen in other pharmacies. Publix, for instance, now offers certain generic prescription antibiotics for free, thus assuring new customers. It is not hard to find certain generics at very low cost.
Prescription cards are also a great way to save money on drugs that are not available in generic form. These cards sometimes have a small fee, but the savings can be quite substantial. There are also coupons available for transferring prescriptions to an alternate pharmacy. The competition is cut-throat and, in the end, helps the consumer truly save money.
